The 29th Brooklyn Film Festival will screen 130 Films, 26 World premieres from May 29th through June 7th, 2026. The "Invitation" theme "admits all" to join in the annual celebration of independent cinema.
Bric Arts Media House will host the New York Premiere of the narrative feature film "A Mosquito In The Ear" directed by Nicola Rinciari and starring Jake Lacy, Nazanin Boniaadi, and Ruhi Pal. The story is of a couple and their struggle to adopt a 4-year-old who refuses to leave the only home she knows, the adoption agency, and return with the couple to India. The travels to return are filled with chaos, intermarital conflict and adventure. This film is opening night of the Brooklyn Film Festival, May 29th.
Two days of panels and tabling, a short film pitch contest for documentary and narrative films with prizes for the winners will be June 3rd and 4th with the return of the BFF Exchange. Vice Sports, Queer films, Brooklyn Museum's First Saturdays and more are programmed this year.
