The Rockaway Film Festival along with others in the community are supporting a Flying High Free Kite-Making Workshop. Participants use unexpected materials to build their own kite from scratch. You do not need experience, just be resourceful, try new ideas and make something fly! Join them May 30, 2026.

The workshop starts at 4pm at Rockaway Beach Amphitheater. At 6pm, you will be able to test your creations in the open sky on the beach between 94th and 95th street. All supplies are provided, courtesy of Materials for the Arts.
