This was a spotlight gala screening as part of the 63rd New York Film Festival. A red carpet for Sunday's 6pm screening took place before the film started projecting with filmmakers, stars, and the Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen present. The feature film is a biographical drama chronicling the crossroads in the early 80's Bruce Springsteen encountered while writing intensely personal acoustic songs that would become his 1982 "Nebraska" album. It is based on the book Warren Zanes wrote called Deliver Me from Nowhere. The 117 Minute film was written by Scott Cooper and Warren Zanes. Scott Cooper also directed the film. The film stars Odessa Young, Stephen Graham, and Jeremy Allen White. Jeremy Allen White plays Bruce Springsteen in the film. Additionally, Gabby Hoffman plays Adele Springsteen and Johnny Cannizzaro plays Steve Van Zandt. Rolling Stone magazine reported that after the film's premiere at the New York Film Festival, Springsteen took the stage with a surprise performance of his song "Land of Hope and Dreams". Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere had its New York premiere on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.
