Words of War had its New York premiere on Wednesday night, April 30th, 2025.  The film is focused on journalist and human rights activist Anna Politkovskya who went from local print journalist to stepping into Chechen killing fields and exposing Russian state corruption under Vladimir Putin.

Directed by James Strong, the film stars Jason Isaacs, Maxine Peake, Ben Miles, and Ciaran Hinds. The film will release May 2, 2025 in theaters. As a journalist, Anna Politkovskaya refused to give up reporting despite numerous attempts of intimidation and violence against her, including poisoning.

Director James Strong will attend Q&A's following screening of the film at Village East on May 2 and 3.
