First Saturdays Presents Rock Rubber 45s

Tonight, the Brooklyn Museum is hosting First Saturdays and this month, their theme is Latinx Pride. There is music, dancing, collage-making, letter writing, and film.

The film is Rock Rubber 45s, the documentary by and about Bobbito Garcia. The film explores his life of being a basketball player, hip-hop DJ, sneakerhead, and now filmmaker. Rock Rubber 45s has screened at festivals and theaters across New York City and America. This screening is presented in partnership with the Afro-Latino Festival NYC. Admission is free, but limited to the first 330 in line at 5pm. The film starts at 6.

Stick around after the film for more of the festivities including Bobbito deejaying along with Los Nativos de Brooklyn and others.  That starts at 8:30.

The Brooklyn Museum is located at 200 Eastern Parkway.
