Rock Rubber 45s at Brooklyn Historical Society

Bobbito Garcia is a name known to New Yorkers that follow basketball, music, and sneaker culture.  In recent years, his name is getting known in filmmaking circles.  His latest work is Rock Rubber 45s and is screening Thursday, September 27th at the Brooklyn Historical Society.  Bobbito will be there for a post screening Q&A.

This feature documentary, which happens to be about Bobbito AKA Kool Bob Love, has made its rounds nationally, internationally, as well as locally.  Rock Rubber 45s has screened at BAM Brooklyn, Maysles, Metrograph, Central Park Summerstage, and even The Kennedy Center in DC.  He will also be taking it to the Smithsonian African American Film Festival to play at the new National Museum of African American History & Culture in October.

Rock Rubber 45s is Bobbito's third film.  He also created Doin' It In The Park: Pick-Up Basketball, NYC (2013) and Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives (2015).
