Outdoor Cinema in Socrates Sculpture Park is happening on Saturday, September 12, 2026. BOUCHRA is the feature film that will be screening Saturday night. The animated film by artists Meriem Bennani and Orian Barki follows a Moroccan filmmaker living in New York who is navigating a conversation with her mother that reflects on the complexity of living between cultures.
The evening will begin with a special prescreening DJ set by Moroccan-born, New York based artist and composer, Bergsonist. Following, there will be introductory remarks from Bennani and Barki. The evening food offers are also connecting you to the places, people and traditions that shape the film by featuring Moroccan cuisine.
