Casting is happening today beginning at 5:00pm in Fort Greene for the next Spike Lee Joint.  The 30th anniversary of Spike's first feature film She's Gotta Have It is being turned into a series.

In mid-September, Netflix signed on and ordered a 10 episode series in what will be an updated version of the film that told the story of Nola Darling and her three lovers, which included Spike's character Mars Blackmon.

Lee is set to direct the series as well as executive produce alongside his wife Tonya Lewis Lee.  The original film shot in 12 days in the summer of 1985.  The updated series will begin shooting October 11 and is expected to continue through January 25, 2017.

Casting is being handled through Barbara McNamara Casting.  Spike made the announcement on his Instagram account on September 28.  You can also email submissions, but time is of the essence.  Here is the info that was posted on his Instagram:

Looking for all nationalities age 18-80

Filming will take place October 11th – January 25TH

SAG/AFTRA actors 5PM-6:30PM
NON UNION actors 6:30-8PM

ALL TALENT MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN USA and have valid proof of ID. Please bring updated headshot and resume along with 2 forms of ID (DL/SS, US PASSPORT, GREENCARD/SS, PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD/SS)
