Paris Theater Screening Classics from 1974

Netflix is launching a screening series called Milestone Movies: The Anniversary Collection. It is a tribute to great movies. The first collection is comprised of movies celebrating their golden anniversary this year; movies released in 1974.

Netflix will screen the movies at their physical theaters, two in Los Angeles, the Egyptian and the Bay and one in New York, the Paris.

The Paris Theater will have fifteen movies from March 22 through 28. Some of them will have special guests to introduce the movies.  These include the following:
  • March 22: Film critic Jordan Hoffman will introduce the 6:30pm screening of Chinatown
  • March 23: Filmmaker Laura Poitras will introduce the 11:15am screening of The Conversation
  • March 23: Filmmaker Godfrey Cheshire will introduce the 2:00pm screening of The Traveler
  • March 23: Actor John Early will introduce the 9:25pm screening of Female Trouble
  • March 26: Columbia Film Professor Annette Insdorf will introduce the 6:55pm screening of A Woman Under the Influence
  • March 28: Film critic Stephanie Zacharek will introduce the 7:00pm screening of Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
Nine of the films will be projected from actual 35mm film including two archival prints courtesy of the Academy Film Archive and the UCLA Film & Television Archive. The screening of Foxy Brown is the New York City premiere of the DCP restoration.
