NewFilmmakers Screening Women's Works on Wednesday

NewFilmmakers is this Wednesday, February 26th with a special Women's Filmmakers program, a Short Film program and two features HOSPITAL ROOM and THE YEAR I DID NOTHING screening.

The New Filmmakers special program will present woman filmmaker Barbara Holstein. Her works "TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION, A COMING OF AGE, SELFIE FILM" and "SELFIE PROJECT", a pilot show designed to air weekly, will screen at 6p.m.

At 7:00p.m., NewFilmmakers Short Film Program will start and the following films will be projected:
Michele Melani INSOMNIA
Rui Niu ABORTION MARY
Charlotte BeBenste BYE BODY
Rachael Sonnenberg PLEDGE IT

The first feature film presentation will be HOSPITAL ROOM 32 by Ruth Somalo, a story of a woman living with fibromyalgia, screening at 8p.m. The second feature at 9:15p.m. is Ana Barredo's film THE YEAR I DID NOTHING, a coming of age story of a 15 year old anticipating the ten year old immigration application that is about to be processed.

If you go to see any of these films, your ticket will let you see all the films. The box office opens at 5:30p.m. NewFilmakers screens at Anthology Film Archives on the Lower East Side located at 32 Second Avenue and 2nd Street.
