Tribeca Festival Schedule is Available

The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert DeNiro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 to spur the economic and culture revitalization of lower Manhattan following the World Trade Center attacks. In 2019, James Murdoch's Lupa Systems bought a majority stake in Tribeca Enterprises, bringing together Rosenthal, DeNiro, and Murdoch to grow the enterprise. This June 3-14, 2026, Tribeca Festival will celebrate its 25th year.

This year, the festival's film selection is the most in Tribeca Festival history. The final selection includes 118 feature films, including 103 world premieres that represent 143 filmmakers, with 55 first-time directors, across 44 countries. This year, 48 percent of the films are from women directors and 50 percent by BIPOC filmmakers in keeping with Tribeca's commitment to championing diverse voices.

Tribeca has become known for being a premier destination for music-driven storytelling. Opening Night is EARTH WIND AND FIRE (To Be Celestial VS That's the Weight of the World) directed by Ahmir "QUESTLOVE" Thompson. The film will be followed on Wednesday, June 3 with a special performance by EARTH WIND & FIRE and THE ROOTS setting the tone for a celebratory, music-forward festival.

As we navigate an increasingly divided world, the same spirit that rebuilt our city after 9/11 now fuels a new generation of artists and storytellers," said Jane Rosenthal, Tribeca Festival Co-Founder and Co-Chair. "This year's incredible feature and short film lineup includes stories from filmmakers who make us think, feel, laugh, cry, and ask why. Tribeca remains dedicated to the artists' voices and diverse perspectives that challenge us to see one another more clearly."

Features line-up will have you seeing high profile premieres as well as break out discoveries.  Susan Sarandon, Katie Holmes, Quentin Tarantino, Aubrey Plaza, 
Zach Braff, Marc Maron, Dustin Hoffman, Joshua Jackson, Alicia Vikander, Wagner Moura, Paul Rudd, Tim Blake Nelson, Jim Parsons, André Holland, Wendell Pierce, Samira Wiley, Sofia Boutella, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Simon Pegg and more performers have films on this year's schedule.

The Documentary film line-up will have Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross, plus Derek and Hayley Hough who will perform following their premiere.

Whoopi Goldberg has once again curated the short animation program. This year will be her tenth year doing so. This year's lineup featuring world premieres of Apart directed by Pola Maneli and written by Spike Lee; Me, Myself, and Mary, voiced by Chris O'Dowd and directed by John Michell; and The Upstairs Neighbors by Connie Qin He. The overall shorts program announced by Tribeca has 86 titles from 93 filmmakers, including 45 world premieres across narrative, documentary, animated, and music video categories. This year, a new competition Best New York Short Award given to celebrate stories and storytellers that have defined Tribeca as New York's festival.

"These films capture moments of hope, resilience, and transformation, while pushing the boundaries of form and perspective. It's an exciting look at the future of cinema, shaped by artists unafraid to take risks."

Closing night is Alicia Keys: Girl From Hell's Kitchen World Premiere. Take the journey from the gritty street of 90's New York where Alicia grew up to the Broadway Stage in Tribeca alum One9's (Nashville: Time Is Illmatic, TF 2014) moving tribute to a life of music, dreams, and the city that breaks them and makes them. Directed by One9. Produced by Brian Katz, Cole Cook. After the premiere: A special appearance by Alicia Keys.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mumford and Sons, Peter Frampton and more have spotlights in the 2026 festival and will be in attendance at their screenings.
