CBS announced on December 10, 2025 that Tony Dokoupil will be the new anchor for the CBS Evening News. He will begin his role on Monday, January 5, 2026. The broadcast airs weekdays at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
In the first month, a cross-country tour is planned where Dokoupil will meet with viewers in cities and towns across America. He is known for his two decades of spanning the globe and on the instinct that defined his coverage: to go where the story is.
Since 2019, viewers have been able to find Tony Dokoupil on The CBS Morning Show that he co-hosted with Gayle King and Nate Burleson.
