Day of Black Cinema at Billie Holiday Theatre

On Saturday, November 22nd, a one day film event is taking place at the Billie Holiday Theatre in Bed-Stuy. This event is entitled I Got a Story to Tell: A Day of Black Cinema. The event has been programmed by Taylor Montague.

For $10, ticket holders will get a feature documentary, a selection of short films, a Black Film Workers Panel, workshops on creating a zine and the basics of montage, and another feature film. This along with food and drinks.

The feature documentary to start the event is A Mother Apart by Laurie Townshend. The short films are El Tiguere by Andrew J. Rodriguez, Night Bloom by Tiye Amenechi, Vital by Carolyn Lazard, and Meal Ticket by Wes Andre Goodrich. The second feature is the 1975 film Den Muso (The Young Girl) by Souleymane Cissé.


The Billie Holiday Theatre is located at 1368 Fulton Street in Brooklyn.
