Celebrate the Uptown NYC Community of Inwood, Washington Heights, Harlem and Marble Hill at the annual Inwood Film Festival Showcase. The film screenings, industry seminars and award ceremony take place May 23-26 in this uptown setting. Inwood Art Works presents the festival at Columbia University's Campbell Sports Center in Inwood. The lineup features 30 films, including 10 world premieres, seminars and post-show conversations with filmmakers as well as special events.

Highlights include:

Opening Night Benefit on Thursday, May 23rd, at 6:30pm, featuring a special feature presentation of acclaimed documentary film, The Boys of Kingsbridge, an uplifting story of how four lifelong friends from the same neighborhood reacted at ground zero. Following the screening, filmmaker Thom MacNamara will engage in a post-screening conversation.

IFF Filmmaker Fund Shorts: Screening of shorts featuring Inwood Filmmaker Fund grantees, accompanied by a post-screening filmmaker conversation and reception on Friday, May 24th. Celebrating its 5th year, the filmmaker fund aims to financially support and encourage the creation of cinema in the Inwood NYC community, and financially support the filmmaking of local Inwood NYC community filmmakers.

IFF+: Once again, the Inwood Film Festival extends its reach with IFF+, an online extension of the film festival. Recognizing the importance of accessibility and community connection (stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic), IFF+ provides a digital platform to celebrate and showcase the work of local artists, fostering engagement beyond geographical boundaries and attract new audiences for local independent filmmakers.

IFF ticketing: $15 Single Tickets (Students $10*) to each individual screening; $50 Festival Pass (Students $40*) — all access pass to all screenings; $85 Benefit Ticket ($125 on the day) — admission to Opening Night Benefit on May 23; $125 Benefit Ticket & Festival Pass – admission to Opening Night Benefit on May 23, and all access pass to all screenings; IFF+ Online Festival – $3 Single Tickets / $20 Festival Pass (on sale from May 1).

Before and after the festival screenings, ticket holders can mingle in The Red-Carpet Community Room, a hip hub to connect filmmakers and audiences that is for the exclusive use of all Inwood Film Festival ticketed patrons before and after each screening. Enjoy a glass of wine or a Dyckman Beer and come to connect with neighbors before the show, stay afterward to discuss the films, meet like-minded folk, and hob-nob with local movers n' shakers!

On both Friday & Saturday evenings, you can join filmmakers, film aficionados, and the Inwood Art Works team to raise a glass to the Inwood community and its vibrant arts scene in the Red Carpet Community Room. And on Sunday after the awards ceremony, you can join them for a festival after party at Tubby Hook Tavern (4946 Broadway).
