Cinema Village has been closed like many theaters over the past year. It is finally re-opening its doors this week. Owner Nicolas Nicolaou has invited filmmaker Abel Ferrara to kick things off.
They are holding a nine day retrospective from June 30 through July 8. Ferrara created a documentary about the owner Nicolaou and his four decades of running a theater in Greenwich Village. It is called The Projectionist and will screen for free on Tuesday, June 29th. Ferrara's latest film Siberia starring Willem Dafoe is screening as well.
The rest of the retrospective includes films that Ferrara remembers from Cinema Village and a mix of his own films. These films are:

The Conformist by Bernardo Bertolucci
