Natchez Doc Coming to Film Forum

Natchez opens at the Film Forum on January 30, 2026 with a national roll out to follow. 

The film has won the following awards to date:
  • 2025 Tribeca Winner: Best Documentary Feature
  • 2025 Tribeca Special Jury Mention: Cinematography in Documentary Feature: Noah Collier
  • 2025 Tribeca Special Jury Mention: Editing In A Documentary Feature: Pablo Proenza
  • National Board of Review - Top 5 Documentaries of the Year.
The film Natchez by Suzannah Herbert shows the clash between history and memory. The ever present past is told through the small Mississippi townspeople.

Natchez will be released theatrically by Oscilloscope Laboratories and broadcast on PBS's Independent Lens. If you see it theatrically at the Film Forum on Friday, January 30, 2026, the 8:10pm screening will include a Q&A with Filmmaker Suzannah Herbert and Producer Darcy McKinnon. The two filmmakers will also appear for a Q&A on Saturday, January 31 after the 6:10pm screening.
