Lionsgate Acquires NA Rights to HIT Library (released Tuesday, March 25, 2008) By Douglas Lorah Lionsgate has acquired North American distribution rights to HIT Entertainment's family entertainment library. Some of the franchises include Thomas and Friends, Bob the Builder, Barney, Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam, Wallace & Gromit, and Fraggle Rock. Lionsgate is scheduled to begin distributing releases in May 2008. Thomas and the Great Discovery, a feature length direct to DVD movie, features Pierce Brosnan as narrator and will be released in September.
