New York Jewish Film Festival is Now

(released 1/15/2020)

The Jewish Museum and Film at Lincoln Center are again partnering for the 29th annual New York Jewish Film Festival. This year, there are narratives, documentaries, and short films from restored classics to world premieres on the program.

Opening night will be Dani Menkin's Aulcie, Closing night film will be Dror Zahavi's Cresendo, and the centerpiece film will be a selection focused on the career of Marceline Loridan-Ivens, The Birch Tree Meadow.

Highlights include the 50th anniversary of director Vittorio De Sica's Academy Award winning film Garden of the Finzi-Continis and the world premiere of the restored 1919 silent film Broken Barriers (Khavah). This restored film is based on the Sholem Aleichem stories that inspired Fiddler on the Roof. The restoration was completed by the National Center for Jewish Film.

The festival will run January 15-28, 2020. For more details, go to: www.filmlinc.org
