(released 8/6/2019)

The 57th Annual New York Film Festival will take place September 27-October 13, 2019 as part of Film at Lincoln Center.  Martin Scorcese's film The Irishman will be the opening night feature film. Noah Baumbach's Marriage Story is going to be the Centerpiece film at Alice Tully Hall on October 4th. The closing night film will be Ed Norton's Motherless Brooklyn starring Ed Norton and Alec Baldwin.

The Irishman is based on non-fiction book I Heard You Paint Houses. Joe Pesci is a Pennsylvania mob boss Russell Bufalino, Al Pacino is Teamster president Jimmy Hoffa, and right hand man Frank Sheeran is played by Robert DeNiro.

Charlie and Nicole are divorcing and Marriage Story is the emotional line. Charlie, a 100 percent New York experimental theater director played by Adam Driver, goes through custody of their son with Scarlet Johansson who plays Nicole, Charlie's soon to be LA-based ex-wife and principal actress.

Motherless Brooklyn is evoked from a novel by the same name but placed in 1950's New York. Norton plays a detective with Tourette Syndrome shattered by a botched job. Alec Baldwin plays a Robert Moses-like Master Builder in a time of racial divide. The film also has supporting performances by Bruce Willis, Willem Dafoe, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Leslie Mann, and Cherry Jones.  Daniel Pemberton, Wynton Marsalis, and Thom Yorke contributed to the score, orchestration, and original song work of the soundtrack.
