Commish Menin Transitioning to Census 2020 Duties

Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Julie Menin will be transitioning to serve the Mayor's Office as the city's Director of Census 2020 and Executive Assistant Corporation Counsel for Strategic Advocacy. The transition will occur in the final weeks of January and the Mayor's Office has appointed MOME's Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel Anne del Castillo as Acting Commissioner until a new Commissioner is appointed.

Anne del Castillo has been with the MOME since 2014. Prior to finishing law school in Brooklyn, Del Castillo was working in production. First in 1994 as a Production Associate/Office Manger for American Masters at Thirteen WNET, then a Series Coordinator for FRONTLINE at WGBH, Boston. Production work took her to Austin, Texas in 1997 where she was a freelance producer for five years while serving almost three years as Austin Film Society Associate Director. In 2002, Anne del Castillo became the Vice President, Development & Business Affairs at PBS American Documentary, POV.  During her ten years at PBS, she once again did double duty and finished her law degree in 2012. The journey took her to Director of Development at 14th Street Y Education Alliance then to Story Corps for a short time as Director, Legal Affairs & Operations before landing at MOME in 2014.
