With the release of Destroyer on December 25, Nitehawk Cinema is having a tribute to Director Karyn Kusama. Well, the retrospective is happening January 24-27 at the Williamsburg location (now that there are two Nitehawks).
Kusama will be present for a Q&A after the screening of Jennifer's Body on the 24th at 7:00 pm. She will also introduce Destroyer on the 24th at 9:55pm and Q&A the 35mm screening of Girlfight on the 26th. This is all part of the screening series which includes The Invitation on Friday, Girlfight and XX on Saturday, and Aeon Flux on Sunday.
Girlfight was written and directed by Kusama, which was her directorial debut. It was also the introduction of actress Michelle Rodriguez. The film won the Grand Jury Prize and the Directing Award in Dramatic Competition at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival.
