Kevin Spacey Honored By The Museum of Moving Image

(released 3/10/2014)

The Museum of the Moving Image celebrates annually with a gala Salute.  On the evening of April 9th, 2014, the museum will mark 28 years by saluting Kevin Spacey.

Spacey's contributions in acting have been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in the form of several nominations and awards for supporting and best actor. In his career, Kevin Spacey has extended his skill level to directing and creating Trigger Street Productions.

Production company owner Spacey, through Trigger Street Productions, has been a leader in communicating that the consumption of episodic television by the viewer had changed to a binge like behavior.  Therefore, Trigger Street produced the series House of Cards with the new consumers' interests in mind.  House of Cards is distributed by NetFlix and allows the viewer to watch an entire season of episodes at their desired pace, since they are released collectively instead of through traditional formatting that releases each episode weekly.

The evening Salute will be held at 583 Park Avenue. A tribute to Spacey will include "friends and collegues, accompanied by notable scenes from his films, leading up to the presentation of the award." according to the museum's website page for the event.

Tickets start at $1,500 and a table is $15,000. The contributions raised from the Salute fund exhibits, programs and educational tours, screenings, and workshops.
