Films Explore Abortion Rights at the JCC Manhattan

UNDER G-D and DECIDING VOTE are two short films that will screen July 19th. Both films explore the past and present fight for abortion rights. The in-person movies at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan begin at 7p.m. and will include a Q&A following the screenings.

UNDER G-D directed by Paula Eiselt is inspired by the lived experiences of Jewish women. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Jewish women, rabbis, organizations and interfaith leaders have filed lawsuits to combat the decision. The film has a 23 minute running time.

Deciding Vote shares George Michaels' story as a New York assemblyman over 50 years ago casting a single vote that legalized abortion in the state of New York. A moving tribute to political courage, the film has a 20 minute running time and is directed by Jeremy Workman and Robert Lyons.
