The 23rd Annual Coney Island Film Festival will be held May 5-7th, 2023 in the historic Brooklyn neighborhood of Coney Island. SideShows by the Seashore and The Coney Island Museum, located on the ground and second floors of 1208 Surf Avenue, will be the host venues for the festival.
The annual screening of The Warriors will take place on Saturday night, May 6 at 10pm at SideShows by the Seashore. The Warriors ticket is separate from pass holder tickets.
The opening night film, directed by Chicory Wees is a documentary feature having its NYC premiere, CIRCUS OF THE SCARS. A scrappy sensational sideshow revival act playing Seattle dive bars is suddenly propelled into the big time, riding the same wave that brought grunge rock crashing into mainstream culture. Circus of the Scars follows the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow on a relentless and controversial world tour as they rise from obscurity to international infamy. Sold out audiences gape in horror and howl with laughter, but behind-the-scenes, inner struggles and battles with their maniacal ring leader push the troupe ever closer to an early implosion.
