Dear Edward is the story of Edward Adler, a 12 year old boy who survives a commercial plane crash. The crash killed every other passenger on the plane including his family. Edward Adler is played by Colin O'Brien.

Apple TV+ announced in February a new 10-episode drama series based on Ann Napolitano's novel, will be written, show run and executive produced by Jason Katims. Katims is known for Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, and As We See It. This order for series is the first, in an overall deal between Apple TV+ and Katims. Katims will reunite on the series with Friday Night Lights star Connie Britton as she is set to star in this series along with O'Brien and Taylor Schilling (Lead from Orange is the New Black).

Fisher Stevens will direct the first episode and serve as executive producer on the pilot. We saw Fisher Stevens in action on Monday, March 21 at the 72nd Street west entrance of Central Park. The scene called for Edward Adler (O'Brien) and friend biking in the park and then coming to a positioned food truck.
