This Saturday, the Museum of the Moving Image will present a screening of the documentary Ascension. Filmmaker Jessica Kingdon will be in-person for the screening.

Ascension presents a look at China's growing class divide. The workers running the factories, the middle class training and selling, and the elite enjoying the spoils. 

Ascension won Best Documentary Feature and Kingdon won the Maysles Best New Documentary Director award at Tribeca this year.

The screening is Saturday, January 15 at 4:30pm in the Redstone Theater. MoMI is located at 36-01 35 Avenue in Astoria.
