NYWIFT Talks with Director Maggie Gyllenhaal

NYWIFT TALKS is a weekly series presented by New York Women in Film and TV.  The talks are free to attend. The next Talk will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 4p.m.

Moderator Cynthia Lopez will talk with THE LOST DAUGHTER director Maggie Gyllenhaal. Lopez is the former NYC Film Commissioner.  Gyllenhaal, in addition to being a recognized actress, was awarded by the Gotham Awards 2021 for her work on this film, THE LOST DAUGHTER.  The film is Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut. Gotham recognized her with the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director award, Best Screenplay, and Best Feature. Actor Olivia Colman, who Maggie directed in the film, was recognized at the Gotham Awards for Outstanding Lead Performance for her work in The Lost Daughter.

The film will be available in theaters on December 17 and on Netflix on December 31, 2021.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is the daughter of a screenwriter, a mother to two girls and lives with her girls and husband in Brooklyn, NY.  Maggie is also a Columbia University graduate.
