Athena Film Festival Accepting Submissions

(released 6/23/2021)

Submissions are now open for the Athena Film Festival 2022. Do you have a screenplay, short film, or story that involves strong women and or women in leadership roles? The festival embraces and empowers women in film and storytelling to reach not only a larger audience but a more direct and possible way to the Hollywood pipeline of storytelling distribution.

Summer is submission season for Athena and you can access which program, the writers lab or festival submission, that you are interested in pursuing.

The Founders of Athena Film Festival are Kathryn Kolbert and Melissa Silverstein who continue to work with organizational partners to propel and excel the visibility of women. Athena Center for Leadership, Women and Hollywood and Barnard College are Founding Organizations of the festival.

The Athena Film Festival was founded to disrupt the historically exclusive traditions of the entertainment industry. Recognizing the definition is constantly evolving, the festival strives to include, as it is a true reflection of our global community.
